Sustainability
We create a space where nature and people thrive. While ecology is becoming a trend, for us it has been a natural practice since 2009. We believe that the heart of wine beats in the vineyard, not in marketing brochures. Therefore, we eliminated chemistry and bet on the closed cycle of nature.

We work with the soil so that it is full of life, humus and has a beautiful crumb structure.

Nature in the Vineyard

You will find wild and ornamental shrubs and trees in them, which help retain water in the soil and improve the microclimate of the vineyard. You will also find plots where we grow seeds for green manure for the vineyard inter-rows, which improves soil structure, provides nutrition for the vines, feeds microorganisms in the soil, and by creating pores in the soil, improves its water retention capacity.
In the pasture, we have established an agroforestry system with 300 trees. Half of them are fruit trees of old and regional varieties that will gradually ripen from July to November and diversify the diet of our sheep.
In our vineyards, you can find rotting wood and stones on piles, providing living space for insects. Natural predators of vine pests are drawn to them, regulating their populations so they don't cause harm. Thanks to this effect, we haven't had to use insecticides for many years.

Instead of pesticides, we produce our own extracts from herbs, which we use as vine protection against diseases and molds. Four such extracts are registered for organic farming here and across Europe. Our vineyards are surrounded by biocorridors that protect them against pesticide drift from neighboring plots.
Organics that cannot be composted (infested wood, wooden fences) are burned in a special Oregon kiln for biochar. Once incorporated, it enriches the soil and increases its water retention. Additionally, we store CO2 in the soil.
Cellar Management
We process only grapes that we grow ourselves and harvest by hand. Only then do we have control over their quality. All our wines ferment spontaneously without artificial yeasts, only on the yeasts that the grapes brought from the vineyard.
Only in this way can the wine absolutely reflect its place of origin. In most wines, malolactic fermentation occurs spontaneously. The wines are thus naturally stable, making it possible to limit the use of the preservative sulfur dioxide.

We don't live on an island – we care about life around us. We support local suppliers, local non-profit organizations and participate in the cultural development of the Kutná Hora region.
We support local non-profit organizations that improve life in our region and support people who have been less fortunate in life than we have. We employ people disadvantaged in the labor market and give them the opportunity to realize themselves.
In our tastings, you can enjoy food from our region. Whether it is pastries from local Středové pekárny, fresh fish from Bylanka, potatoes from Kačina, cheeses from the nearby Bláto farm and many others.
We organize many events in the region – Vintage at Kačina, visited by thousands of people every year, we founded the largest organic gastronomy festival in the Czech Republic, Gastrofestival. Or we annually organize St. Martin's Feasts and St. Wenceslas Celebrations at the St. Ursula Monastery in Kutná Hora.

We educate ourselves regularly. Agricultural science moves forward quickly and its findings push our farming further. We want to be at the forefront of news, which is why we regularly invite leading Czech and European experts for lectures and relay new information to other farmers.
In the years 2023 - 2025, we became a Demonstration Organic Farm of the Ministry of Agriculture. We are part of scientific experiments and actively apply new knowledge into practice.

Come with us to see the places where the character and energy of our wines are born.
